  • Systemic infections

  • Severe cold

  • Fracture, bleeding, burns or other acute injury

  • Liver and kidney diseases

  • Blood clot

  • 1st trimester of Pregnancy

  • High blood pressure (unless under control with medication)

How long do the effects of a particular therapy last, and how often should I receive Myofascial Release or any therapy offered at Wellness Body Therapy?

The duration of the effects of a therapy vary greatly from person to person depending on your physical and mental condition, activities, ability to relax, and ability to heal. If you are receiving a therapy to help heal an injury or to get rid of chronic pain, you usually need to receive weekly or bi-weekly sessions until you reach that goal.

If you are receiving massage for prevention, health maintenance, or just to feel better, you have more leeway in how often you receive a particular type of therapy. Monthly sessions would be beneficial for prevention. The effects of consistant sessions are cumulative. Every week or two can make a big difference in your overall health and tension levels. Make massage therapy part of your health maintenance program (along with good nutrition and exercise).
